Make Your Home and Car Smoke Free

Second hand smoke kills more Americans each year than murder, drugs and AIDS combined.

Children who live in a smoking home are more likely to be treated for asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis and middle ear infections.

Dogs living in a smoking home are 1.6 times more likely to develop lung cancer. Cats are more than twice as likely to acquire feline lymphoma cancer.

Call the health department if you observe smoking in any of these places:

Nassau County Department of Health
(516) 571-3680: restaurants and bars

(516) 571-3232: all other worksites

Suffolk County Department of Health Services
(631) 853-2967: all worksites

All complaints will be kept confidential and will be promptly investigated.
