Tobacco Action Coalition of Long Island

Tobacco Industry Sponsorship

Tobacco companies donate to community organizations to build an image as good corporate citizens.  However, the money that they donate comes from selling a product that kills more than 400,000 people a year.  TAC is working with local businesses and organizations to help stop tobacco companies from targeting our kids through advertising, sponsorship, and promotion.

Join the growing number of organizations that are saying "No Thanks, Big Tobacco" by signing our resolution to not accept tobacco funding.

Point-of-Purchase Retail Tobacco Advertising

Studies show that youth are three times more sensitive to tobacco advertising than adults and are more influenced to smoke by tobacco advertising than by peer pressure.  Knowing this, the tobacco industry spends over $15 billion annually marketing our youth.  To fight back against Big Tobacco, TAC has launched a campaign asking local tobacco retailers to reduce, remove and rearrange tobacco advertising in and around their stores.
